Randy’s class will introduce movers, even absolute beginners, to classical dance techniques like Ballet as well as Modern and Post-Modern dance techniques like Doris Humphrey’s Fall and Recovery and Release technique. Expect a physical class with great exercise that Randy will tailor to the level of experience of the movers in the room. You will be challenged, but never overwhelmed, because dance above all should be FUN! Wear clothing you feel comfortable moving in.
Fall and Recovery – the human body’s natural tendency to seek equilibrium in response to the constant pull of gravity. Humphrey created from these principles a logical, lyrical and naturally dramatic vocabulary of dance – dynamic, versatile, expressive of human thought and feeling.
Release Technique – is focused on the principles of “ease of movement” and “fluidity”. Dancers learn to minimize tension in the body to create freedom of movement. The release of body weight into the floor and the use of breath to instigate movement is part of the learning process. The style focuses on the use of energy, gravity and momentum to create dynamic movement.

Drop-ins are welcome for $12/class (+ $.50 online processing fee), and 5 or 10 Class Cards are accepted (+ $2 online processing fees)
